The water and ground is extremely chemical and biological poluted. Add the acsending floods and storms in this area and it becomes a timebom for an ecological catastrophe. Resulting ground speculations and abcence of local pressure groups make this area sensitive for unsocial development and gentrification. This proposal will bring a strategy to use the existing waterproblem as an economical benefit for the local economy. Gowanus must no longer be seen as threatening, but as needed. Tomorrow every truck, car, taxi or bike will get cleaned in Gowanus, and by that also the local environment !
